Wupatki National Monument, Arizona Wupatki National Monument was established by President Calvin Coolidge in 1924. It protects the ancient dwellings of the pueblo peoples. It occupies 56 square miles of dry, rugged land on the southwestern Colorado Plateau. Wupatki Pueblo was built by the ancestors of the Hopi and Zuni Indians, and occupied during the 1100s. This image was taken with a 35 mm Lecia SLR camera using Fuji velvia film. It was scanned and then reproduced on watercolor paper with an Inkjet printer.
