Great Basin National Park Wheeler Peak at Sunrise Great Basin National Park is located along the Northwest Utah and Nevada border. The Park was established on October 27, 1986. The park contains 13 peaks taller that 10,000 feet and some of the oldest trees on earth, the bristlecone pine. Wheeler peak is 13,063 feet and is the tallest peak in the park.
