Ceiling decorations in the Watchtower
Grand Canyon, Arizona

The Watchtower at the Grand Canyon was built in 1932.  The architect was the great Mary Colter.  The ceiling decorations depicted in this photograph are recreations, by noted artist Fred Geary, of drawings and petroglyphs found in ancient pueblos, cliff dwellings, and on rock walls throughout the Southwest.

The wall decorations in the Watchtower are the work of Hopi artist Fred Kabotie.
